• Colorado State is located in the southwest of the United States of America. The rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountain range dominates half of its west side. Traditionally, Colorado has had a high-level education system and public support for the arts is famous, as evidenced by the quantity and quality of cultural and artistic institutions in the state. The University of Denver and the University of Colorado stand out, both located in the state capital. Among the most outstanding museums in Colorado, one is the Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History and the Colorado National Heritage Center, all of them also located in Denver.
• Many of the tourist places of the state pay homage to the ancient inhabitants, explorers, and settlers of the territory. Some of them are the Pike Palisade, built-in 1807 and later rebuilt in Sanford, the native dwellings of the 'men of the rocks' (the so-called cliff-dwellers) and the towns of the Mesa Verde National Park.
• Colorado is governed by the first Constitution, adopted in 1876. The chief executive is the governor, who is democratically elected for four years and cannot hold office for more than two terms. Colorado elects 2 senators and 6 representatives to the United States Congress.
• The mountains of Colorado, its extensive parks and the numerous lakes and streams provide ideal conditions for outdoor activities. The spas, located on the banks of mineral water springs, are equally famous. Colorado has the first ski resort in the country and more than twenty areas for skiing, including Aspen and Vail.
